KLK1「金燕」乘客电梯
Product overview
What the KLK1「金燕」passenger elevator is
The KLK1, marketed in China as 「金燕」 (Jinyan, the golden swallow), is a passenger elevator platform from CANNY (康力电梯), positioned by the brand as a high-specification, efficient, smart and energy-saving product for general passenger duty. CANNY Elevator Co., Ltd. is based in Suzhou, Jiangsu, and was the first Chinese company to list on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange as a complete-elevator manufacturer; its product centre covers vertical elevators, escalators and moving walks. The KLK1 is the passenger platform inside that portfolio, applied where a project needs a conventional passenger core above the base offer but without the engineering of a bespoke high-rise system. Rated load, rated speed, car size, door arrangement and travel are configured per project: the platform is quoted across the capacity and speed bands the manufacturer applies to passenger duty, and the final figures appear in the project specification and on the layout drawing .
Where it fits in a project
The usual applications are residential towers with a lift lobby, mid-rise and high-rise offices, hotels where the passenger group is separate from the service group, serviced apartments, and institutional buildings such as schools, clinics and civic offices. Because the platform is a volume passenger product rather than a bespoke system, it is most economic where the core is regular and floor-to-floor heights repeat, and where a conventional group meets the traffic requirement.
In new build the KLK1 enters once the architectural layout is stable enough to fix the shaft, pit and overhead, and stays in the package through interior design, because car finishes, ceiling and lighting are chosen with the lobby. In modernisation the shaft is surveyed first and the platform adapted to the measured space, with landing openings and the existing pit treated as constraints. Buyers raise a consistent set of concerns: whether the quoted price holds through the delivery period, whether the interior can be matched to a design intent, whether control can integrate with access control and building management, and whether spares and service will be available locally after handover.
What to check before you specify it
- Fix rated load and rated speed from the traffic study first, and record both in the contract specification rather than in a covering letter.
- Confirm shaft width, depth, pit depth and overhead against the layout drawing before the structural package is issued.
- Ask in writing whether the configuration is machine-room or machine-room-less, since the two are not interchangeable in a fixed core.
- Confirm the stops and total travel the platform can accept, and check that the building does not exceed them.
- Size car and door opening for the largest realistic load, including stretchers, luggage or cleaning equipment where required.
- Agree the destination code and whether a firefighting or evacuation lift is required in this core.
- List the builder's work scope: pit waterproofing and drainage, shaft ventilation, landing sills, hoisting beams and permanent power.
- Define the control interfaces in one document: fire alarm, access control, CCTV, public address and building management protocol.
- Ask which assemblies are imported and which localised, because that split drives spares lead time.
- Confirm the factory test and commissioning protocol, including who supplies test weights and temporary power.
- Agree warranty scope, maintenance responsibility and handover acceptance in the contract.
Compliance and documentation
The compliance route follows the destination market. For CE marking markets the platform is assessed against EN 81-20 for the safety rules of construction and installation and EN 81-50 for design rules, calculations, examinations and tests of lift components; for China the governing standard is GB 7588. Countries outside these frameworks apply their own national lift codes, and some require local type approval, registration or an acceptance inspection before the unit may carry passengers. Those requirements are confirmed by the buyer for the project, and any difference from the Chinese design basis is resolved before production.
Documents normally supplied are the type examination certificates for the safety components and, where required, for the lift model; the certificate of conformity and declaration of conformity; factory test reports and the commissioning record; the packing list; and the installation and maintenance documentation, including layout and wiring drawings and adjustment records. Third-party inspection can be arranged at the factory before packing or at destination. None of this substitutes for the conformity assessment the destination market imposes, whose scope is agreed before the order is released.
Supply, inspection and shipping
ElevApex is a multi-brand supplier, not a manufacturer. Equipment is sourced from Chinese manufacturing partners, and for this platform the manufacturing partner is CANNY in Suzhou. Our scope is commercial and documentary: specification review against the destination code, order placement, engineering follow-up, inspection, export packing, certificates and shipping documents. Where a project combines passenger, freight and escalator packages, several brands can be consolidated into one shipment programme with a single document set and a coordinated delivery schedule.
Pre-shipment inspection is where most site disputes are prevented: completeness against the packing list, car and landing panels against approved finish samples, controller and machine serial numbers against the order, safety component markings against their certificates, and a run test at the factory where one is available. Packing follows the installation sequence: rails in banded bundles with joint protection, panels in plywood cases with a moisture barrier, machine and controller on shock-absorbing pallets, small parts crated by assembly group. Shipping can be quoted EXW, FOB or CIF, and the loading plan is issued with the packing list.
Frequently asked questions
What capacity and speed does the KLK1 offer?
Rated load, rated speed and travel are configured per project from the passenger bands the manufacturer applies to this platform. The values for a building are stated in its project specification and on the layout drawing.
Is the KLK1 suitable for residential towers?
Yes. It is commonly applied to residential cores with a lift lobby, and to offices, hotels and institutional buildings where a conventional passenger group meets the traffic requirement.
Can the car interior be customised?
Panels, ceiling, lighting, handrails and floor are specified from a finish schedule and approved samples. The limit is the standard car structure, not the decorative finish.
Which standards apply to an exported KLK1?
EN 81-20 and EN 81-50 for CE marking markets, GB 7588 for China, and the national code of the destination country. The buyer confirms which governs the project.
Can it be supplied for a modernisation project?
Yes, subject to a shaft survey. Existing dimensions, overhead clearance and landing positions are measured first and the configuration is adapted to those constraints.
